Tuscumbia Photo of the Day: June 10, 2012

Almost forgot to post today’s photo(s)…

These photos were found among the photos of the University of North Alabama’s Archives.

It is of a Tuscumbia Firehouse, but was not dated.

There are as many differences between the photos and the “card” as there are similarities: Surely taken at different times, But there are some particular features common to both of the buildings that the “Coca-Cola” sign is painted on.

The “card” does say “6th” street, though it appears to read 5th street at first. It could not be 5th as there are no tracks running down this street.

Anyone know how to sort this out?

  1. I just picked up a Tenn Valley Historical book, called Tuscumbia at Coldwater Books. It has some of these pictures in it. Will look through it and see if it says anything about the picture in question.
