I have a photo of Ms. Mattie & Helen Keller together, during Helen’s last visit to Tuscumbia.

Ms. Mattie purchased the house at 205 4th Street built in 1905 from the Halseys’ in 1910.  She left the house to her niece Annie Guy Davis in 1961.  She sold it to Mrs. Hall in 1976. Bobby J. & Janice M. Williams purchased it in 1997.

  1. I lived in Tuscumbia from 1947 to 1959, and my grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Richardson, lived their entire lives there. I love this information about Tuscumbia’s past.

  2. Janice M. Williams says:

Thank you Mary. Ms Mattie would proud.
